The St. Cecilia Choir

Music is integral to our worship, formation, and spiritual growth.  Rooted in the richness of the Anglican choral tradition, this ministry seeks to encourage the participation and involvement of all parishioners in a way that is Christ-centered and deepens our faith.  

The St. Cecilia Choir at All Souls Episcopal Church is a professional 12-member SATB vocal ensemble which provides choral music for all liturgies within the parish. it is comprised of both volunteer and paid singers, and new singers are always welcomed to join the group! The St. Cecilia Choir also has quite a few instrumentalists, and include Monika Lambe, Flautist, and Derek Shute, Trumpeter. The choral group provides an eclectic blend of both classical and good quality contemporary choral music, performing a mixture of solos, duets, and trios.  The choir rehearses each Sunday from 12 noon – 1pm.

    Paul Granville Hudgins is the Organist and Director of Music at All Soul’s Episcopal Church, and has served as a part time church musician in a variety of churches since 1971. He recently retired from Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, VA as Director of Financial Services, and from Old Donation Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach, VA as Organist/Choirmaster, relocating to Miami Beach, FL.

    One of Paul’s passions is helping to intertwine music and liturgy so as to provide a meaningful worship experience. Paul holds a BS in Mathematics from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA, and is a member of the Royal School of Church Music USA. He is a member of the Southeastern Florida Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and holds a SPC (Service Playing Certification), ChM (Choir Master Certification), and FAGO (Fellowship Certification) from the American Guild of Organists.

    Cindy Ritter has been singing in Episcopal Church choirs since the age of 12. She is a professionally-trained opera singer and has performed leading roles with regional opera companies in New York and throughout New England. Some of her favorite roles include Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Frasquita in Carmen, Phoebe in The Yeomen of the Guard and the title roles in Princess Ida and Iolanthe.

    Cindy is a retired French teacher who enjoys splitting her time between Miami Beach and Keene, New Hampshire. The loves of her life are her beau Jan, children Claire and Ross and 14 year-old pup Moxie. Cindy is thrilled to be part of the St. Cecilia Choir.

    Derek Shute is a Graduate of York College of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance in 1991. He has been a professional freelance trumpet player since 1987. Other colleges attended include Rowan College of New Jersey, Francis Marion, University of Toledo, Mercer University and the University of South Carolina where he received a Masters degree in Music Education and performance.

    Mr. Shute has worked as a band director in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, Teaching within a wide range of performance ensembles including Concert, Jazz and Marching Band. In 1992 he served as the instrumental director for the Panther Marching Band helping to achieve a TOB Atlantic Coast Championship. Mr. Shute has performed with the U.S. Coast Guard Jazz Band, Jerry Butler, Lloyd Price, Ben E. King, Alabama Theater, House of Blues, Andrew Thielen Big Band and the Barry Mann Jazz Orchestra. Other accolades include Vh-1 Save the Music Grant, Pee Dee Education Foundation Grant and presentations at the Music Educators South East Symposium in Athens Georgia.

    Christina Infusino-Hutcheson performs in both opera and musical theater. Since relocating to South Florida she has sung with Opera Fusion, Palm Beach Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Miami Lyric Opera, Master Chorale of South Florida, Orchestra Miami, IlluminArts and ArtCenter/South Florida, Jubilate Singers of South Florida, New Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, and Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Previously, in the Northeast she sang with MetroWest Opera, Worcester Opera, Commonwealth Lyric Theater, Raylynmore Opera, Longwood Opera, Nashua Choral Society, New England Light Opera, The New England Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Geneva Light Opera, Nashville Symphony Chorus, and the Atlanta Wind Symphony. Roles include Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, 1st Lady and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Sister Mathilde in Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Mabel in Pirates of Penzance. Cover roles include Norina in Don Pasquale and Adele in Die Fledermaus. She has performed soprano solos in Webber’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Rutter’s Gloria, and Mozart’s Requiem. For her musical theater role of Little Sally in Urinetown, she was nominated for an Irene Ryan award. She holds a Master’s of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Belmont University in Nashville.

  • Kevin Wheatle

    Kevin Wheatle focuses mostly on the repertoire of Mozart and Italian bel canto composers. Having participated as a semifinalist in the 2022 Premiere Opera Foundation International Competition and winning the Encouragement Award for the Laffont Competition (formerly the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions) (2019), Kevin has maintained a productive schedule.

    Recently, he has performed Guglielmo in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte with Florida Opera Prima, and is preparing to sing both Figaro and Count Almaviva from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro in April 2023. Kevin will also perform Schaunard from Puccini’s La Boheme with Florida L’Opera & Zarzuela.

    A recent graduate of Depaul University, Kevin has sung as Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with Depaul Opera Theater directed by Harry Silverstein, and sang the baritone solo of Theodore Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ with the Depaul Concert Choir. He has performed with the Depaul Opera theater in their production of Cavalli’s L’egisto as Hipparco, Lockit in Britten’s The Beggar’s Opera, and their “Unveiled” festival concert series to honor their new Holtschneider Performance center, singing the title role in Don Giovanni with Internationally- Acclaimed soprano Ana Maria Martinez as Donna Elivra in excerpts of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.

    A Graduate of the University of Florida, he has played Dr. Bartolo in UF’s opera theater’s production of Il barbiere di siviglia and collaborated with the Gainesville Civic Chorus/chamber opera to perform Death from Holst’s Savitri, The 1st sailor in Dido and Aeneas, and King Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors.

    Anna Lise (Jensen) Arvelo is a former professional actress and singer who relocated from NYC to Miami in 2016. In the four years before the 2020 pandemic, she performed across Marathon, Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Her notable achievements include being awarded the 2018 Silver Palm Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Theatre Community, the 2019 Miami New Times Best Actress in South Florida Award, and the 2019 Carbonell Award for Best Actress in a Musical, for her “respiration-stopping performance” portrayal of Francesca in The Bridges of Madison County. Before her pandemic career pivot, Anna Lise also made significant contributions to the theater community as a teacher. She served on the Theatre Faculty for New World School of the Arts College and High School, Area Stage Company, and ran a coaching business catering to young professional actors, singers, and musicians. A classically-trained soprano, Anna Lise possesses diverse musical talents, including as an accomplished violinist and pianist. Her performances as a soloist and entertainer have taken her across the United States and Europe. She has also lent her voice to numerous cartoons and voiceover projects. Currently, Anna Lise works full time in the tech industry. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, engaging in cross-stitch activities, and staying home with her husband Nicholas and cats.
